Access fee to Venice

In 2025, on selected dates, access to the historic city of Venice between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM is subject to a €5 or €10 entry fee, unless the visitor qualifies for an exemption.
For EuroS&P attendees, only July 4th falls on one of the days when the access fee is required.

If you are staying overnight in accommodation located within the Municipality of Venice, you are required to pay the Tourist Tax directly to the accommodation provider.

The Municipality of Venice includes the following municipal districts:

• Venice (historic center)
• Mestre-Carpenedo
• Marghera
• Chirignago-Zelarino
• Lido-Pellestrina

Therefore, if your accommodation is located in any of these areas, you are exempt from the access fee and simply need to register on the official website as outlined below.

1. If You Are Staying in the Municipality of Venice:

   You are exempt from the access fee but must request an exemption by following these steps:
   1. Visit the Exemption Request Page: https://cda.comune.venezia.it/en/richiestaEsenzione
   2. Select “I am a guest in an accommodation facility located in the Municipality of Venice.”
   3. Click “Request exemption” and follow the on-screen instructions.

2. If You Are Not Staying in the Municipality of Venice:

   • You are attending the Conference on July 4th:
     If you are entering the city for work (e.g., attending the conference), you must request a work-related exemption:
     1. Visit the Exemption Request Page: https://cda.comune.venezia.it/en/richiestaEsenzione
     2. Select “I am a worker”
     3. Choose the option: “Worker / self-employed professional / entrepreneur occasionally accessing in the Ancient City of Venice or in the minor islands for work reasons.”
     4. Complete the form and submit your request.
     Note: This exemption applies only to you. Accompanying persons not attending the conference or working in the city must pay the access fee if applicable.
   
   
   • You are visiting on other Dates when the fee applies:
     If you plan to visit Venice before or/and after the conference on other fee-applicable days and are not eligible for an exemption, you must purchase your access pass:
     1. Go to the Payment Page: https://cda.ve.it/en
     2. Select the desired date(s) from the calendar
     3. Enter the required visitor details (names, number of people, etc.)
     4. Complete the payment
